The lower Loss Creek is an astoundingly beautiful canyon. Unfortunately, the lower part of the second canyon is sieved out pretty bad. We were in there at a very low water level and the portaging was pretty easy, especially since Braden and Conor knew most of the run well from their first run down about a year ago (they had to hike out after running out of day light just above the sieved out section).
For scenery, this run is very impressive though. Tight canyon sections that open up into large tea cups with vertical walls and whitewater up to grade 5. The paddle out to the ocean and then on to Sombrio Beach is beautiful and probably makes up for the portaging. Expect to do some substantial portaging and be reimbursed by scenery :-)
