Here is a link to an interesting article about the Micro Hydro situation in British Columbia.
Some very interesting points with regard to Bill 30.

The pictures of our trip down Clendinning Creek near Whistler are online now.
Go to “River Gallery”, then “BC Mainland”, then “Clendinning Creek”. Easy.
Enjoy, Jan

OK, I have not been very good at updating this lately. Anyways, here is the slideshow that I gave at the Puntledge River Fest about our trip to the Moyeha River. The Moyeha River constitutes the last unlogged watershed on Vancouver Island and is a truly amazing place. The trip took Jakub, Shayne and myself through the alpine and ancient rainforests. We crossed the watershed from the Bedwell River trailhead to Herbert Inlet. There we got a boat pick up from Shaynes dad (he is 72!) to Tofino. The wind was blowing at 25 miles which made for a wild ride back to Tofino.

Thanks especially to Shayne to organise the shuttle…you did an awesome job.

Find the pictures in the River Gallery under Moyeha River.

Check out the Ashlu Fest this year:

The Squamish Whitewater Paddlers would like to invite the paddling clubs in British Columbia, and their members, to the 3rd Annual Ashlu River Festival. The festival runs August 24 - 27
(more…)

I got this from Max Fisher today:

I paddled the upper browns last weekend and there is wood about half way down across the whole river, you can find your way down river right by pulling yourself over the rocks. Anyway thought we should let people know about that because I’m sure it is a popular spring melt run.

Thanks Max!
