Run description:
This is a short run with quite a long drive around Comox lake to get there. But it’s worth doing at least once. The first km is generally easy warm-up stuff, with all the big drops packed into a short section in the middle. The first major drop is tight diagonal pinch between boulders that usually requires portage due to wood. Other memorable drops include a 6-8 foot ledge followed quickly by about a 10 foot constricted ’spout’ between river left and a house-sized boulder. Probably the most fun drop on the run is immediately below this and consists of a Z-type movement between boulders over rather sticky ledges. For the last km, things tone down to class II-III again. The put-in and take-out are conveniently roadside.
